Below is the lowdown on how to check balance on Google Play cards.

  • In case the aforementioned options don’t work, you may call Google Play on 1-855-466-4438 or visit the nearest outlet and ask an attendant to check your gift card balance.
  • Google Play gift card balances are neither reloadable nor redeemable for cash. You can only spend the store credit on in-app purchases and subscriptions.

How to check your Google Play gift card balance on a computer

You can check your balance on a Google Play card from a Mac, Windows or Linux computer. To do so, simply follow the steps below:

1. Log into your Google Play account

Open your browser and head to the Google Play website (https://play.google.com/). Any browser will do, so you’re free to use your favorite browser.

Keep in mind that you can’t log into a Google Play account if you don’t have a Google account. Make sure you have that first. If you have a Gmail account, then you automatically have a Google account.

2. Click “Redeem”

Once you’re logged into your Google Play account, check the left-hand side of the screen. You’ll see a menu with “Redeem” as one of the links.

Click on it. This will bring up a window where you can enter a gift card code or a promo code. Since you’re using a gift card, the code to enter will be your gift card code.

3. Enter gift code

If you bought the card online as an eGift card, it was sent to your email complete with a card number (or serial number) as well as gift card code.

Open that email, copy the code, and paste it in the Google Play window.

In case you bought a physical gift card, you’ll find the code on the back covered with a scratch-off area.

Go ahead and scratch it to reveal the code, then enter that code in the Google Play window.

4. Redeem

Click “Redeem” and Google Play will display how much money you still have left in that card.

At this point, if you hit “Confirm”, you’ll transfer that balance to your Google Play account and you can use it as store credit.

But if you don’t want to do that, you can skip the confirmation. The balance will remain in the gift card, not in your Google Play Store account.

Do you use an Android phone or any other Android device (like tablet)? If so, here’s how to do a quick gift card balance check for you Google Play card:

2. In the upper-left hand corner, tap on the three lines to open the menu.

3. From the menu list, tap on “Redeem”.

4. Enter your Google Play gift card code in the window that opens.

Once again, if you bought a virtual Google Play gift card, you’ll find the code in your email. But if you bought a physical gift card, check for the code on the back where there’s a scratch-off area.

5. Tap “Redeem”. Google Play will display the balance still left in that card.

You can cancel the process if you only wanted to see how much balance your gift card has. But if you want to actually redeem it, then you can proceed to “Confirm”. This will transfer the balance to your Google Play Store credit and you can use it during checkout when paying for purchases and subscriptions.
